2008-2009 Season Finishes for Shammies

From Collages

You probably already know we lost 4-1 to Penetang last night and we are finished for the season. To the guys who played so hard and so well for us, thank you for your spirit and talent - you were a great team and we all really enjoyed watching you play - you gave us all a lot of heart-stopping moments, that will long be remembered by your fans and parents alike.

We appreciated the hard work too by those indispensible others who backed you - the coaches, trainers and managers, timekeepers and President Ken Steen. Thank you for a truly excellent season to you all.

Erin Runs Over Penetang in Double Overtime

It was hockey at its best Saturday night at the Erin arena. Second place Schomberg were running away with the game by the end of the second period as they'd fired in three goals and Erin was sitting at zero. The third period saw the Shammies come back in big way, backed by their appreciative fans, tying it up as the clock ran out. In the overtime, there were some close calls on both sides, but still no goal. Finally, 45 seconds into the second overtime, Marcus Farmer drilled home the winning goal to the cheers of a packed house.
